HASTAC co-founders solicit feedback for their project on the future of learning institutions in a digital age.

by Cathy N. Davidson and David Theo Goldberg

Readers of the Spotlight Blog know that we have been working all year on a collaborative project called “The Future of Learning Institutions in a Digital Age.” The project explores the possibilities (and challenges) arising as new technologies change the way we learn. There is an interactive draft of this text posted on the Institute for the Future of the Book website (http://www.futureofthebook.org/HASTAC/learningreport/about/).  We are expanding and incorporating feedback on this draft into a final version.  We’ve also had three forums with experts to discuss the field of digital media and learning that have proved enormously valuable.

We are now soliciting feedback on our bibliographic section on models of visionary learning institutions.  Zoe Marie Jones, a doctoral student at Duke University, has been working with us on this project and has compiled an interactive bibliography/appendix of learning institutions that have exhibited a commitment (often exemplary, sometimes problematic) to the integration of digital technology and learning. The bibliography is not intended to be inclusive or exhaustive but illustrative of the kinds of changes that are happening in our learning institutions.  We have posted a draft to the HASTAC website. We invite your comments and additions of other visionary and exemplary institutions.
