10.8.09 | Other YouMedia teens have been equally busy.

Members of the music group, Instrumentality write and remix their own original music. Hear them talk about their work and creative process here. Or watch their video Beddy Bye about their love for their hometown. The song is up for the Chicago Public Library’s People’s Choice Award in their Sound Off Competition.

Karen is a member of the Chicago Public Library’s readers theater troup.  “We’re a group of teens who travel all over Chicago to different branches and perform scripts adapted from teen literature,” she says. “YouMedia has a lot of ways for teens to explore literature here beyond just reading.”

Also watch Ube talk about the importance of teens having a space away from adults, Emily talk about posting her photography and book reviews on a social networking site for her peers to critique, and Patrick on teenagers as a creative community.
