[Reblogged] Puget Sound Off
We reblog the launch of Puget Sound Off, a website for Seattle youth that brings together civic engagement opportunities alongside social networking tools. MacArthur grantee Lance Bennett and his group at the Civic Learning Online Project were key partners in developing the website along with the City of Seattle, the Seattle Metrocenter YMCA, One Economy, and DigitalAid.

Puget Sound Off is a social networking site created by youth for youth to express themselves, connect to local resources, share values and concerns, and engage with each other and policymakers in seeking solutions and taking action.
Learn more about Puget Sound Off on the site’s teacher page, the launch contest page, or the how-to page where the first in a series of civic media curricula are posted. Or watch the PSA produced by teen project managers.
For additional context, see also Lance Bennett’s earlier post about the Civic Learning Online Project, which is a part of the University of Washington’s Center for Communication and Civic Engagement.
