Update on Competition and Knowledge Network

Stay tuned for more information coming this summer.

We have been receiving emails and phone calls inquiring about our plans for announcing a competition and for rolling out the Knowledge Network, an online collaboration space that aims to unify the resources and encourage exchange for the field of digital media and learning. Although it is already late spring, and we’ve made no such announcements, we are expecting to have something interesting to say here and on the digital media and learning website at the end of July (update: details will now be posted by mid-August) about both of these topics. So please continue to stay tuned.

FAWC has long been a site where writers, artists and other creative types can expand on JK Rowling’s Harry Potter universe in creating crafts, music, videos, stories, art, films, games, etc. We are very interested in learning more about this competition and in continuing to be a part of the way digital media, education and creativity converge online (as well as offline).

Thanks for supporting youth initiatives around the world. My organization, Slums Information Development & Resource Centres (SIDAREC) has come up with a community radio station that enables young people to share in their thoughts on things that affects them in their daily lives. We are looking for friends/partners to enable us train the youth in basic broadcasting skills, and a few equipments that are remaining. The station is managed by the youth and the contents is for the youth.
Anyone with support is welcome.

George
