Why Digital Media and Learning?

I think understanding how, if at all, young people are changing because of digital media is one of the most important issues MacArthur is exploring.  Changes in how they think, learn, exercise judgment, interact with others and express their creativity may have significant implications for how we think about social and civic institutions--our schools and public libraries--in the 21st century.
