Why Digital Media and Learning?

I am involved in studying the future of digital media and learning because of its potential to meaningfully support (and in some cases undermine) the development of a more informed, engaged, and reflective democracy.

Description of Current Work:

We are conducting a large-scale longitudinal survey that examines the ways high school students’ engagement with digital media is related to their civic and political capacities, commitments, and activities.

Working with the Pew Research Center, we are also conducting a national survey of youth digital gaming in relation to their civic engagement.
