Why Digital Media and Learning?

I am interested in exploring how, in a virtual public space with few rules or constraints, people negotiate the meaning of “community” and the terms of the “social contract” that bind them together.

My current work focuses on how youth interpret the social contract with particular attention to the development of social trust and civic engagement in adolescence and young adulthood.
