Why Digital Media and Learning?

I believe that teacher/mentors who are more reflective about the role of technologies in supporting the creation of 21st century literacies need empirically grounded and practically applicable teaching and learning guidance to support authentic use, encourage appropriation of technical language, and support creation, analysis and critique of technology-based artifacts.

Description of Current Work:

My current work is focused on involves documentation and analysis of
teaching and learning activities, in formal and informal settings,
which will provide specific empirical and thick description
examples of communicative and pedagogical approaches and
contexts that positively impact the narrowing of the “digital divide.”
